• Identify the different structures of the skin and understand the physiology of wound healing.
• Differentiate between the different categories of wounds.
• Holistically asses a patient and their wound/wounds.
• Develop an individualized treatment plan utilizing international assessment tool.
• Differentiate between the various wound care product categories and types.
• Perform wound care procedures in line with infection control best practice.
• Apply best practice principles to all different categories of wounds.
• Adapt their practice in a low resource setting with best practice principles.
• Document and monitor treatment, identify problems, manage and refer as required to the multi-disciplinary team.
